Fabienne Pierre-Jacques (She/Her/Elle)

“I am excited to continue my journey with the Illuminate Network, this time as Network Director. I consider myself blessed/lucky/privileged to be able to make a living doing what I am most  passionate about, work rooted in intersectional feminism, anti-oppression and decolonization. This position is an opportunity for me to support the existing and emerging spaces where equity and social justice lives in System Change.”

Of Haitian origin, Fabienne grew up, and still lives, in the NDG neighborhood of Montreal/Tiohtià:ke, traditional unceded territory of the Kanien'keha:ka. She considers herself a  community worker, who belongs to many communities. Her background includes several positions in black community organizations and feminist groups. of Montreal, and more than 20 years in international development. Her work centered on gender equality, equity, diversity and inclusion is guided by intersectional feminist, anti-racist and decolonial principles. Volunteering, friendships spanning four continents, and the daily challenges of being an active member of a large, intergenerational family keep her engaged and busy.
